With warm greetings and enthusiasm about Texas Tech, the university's new President, Guy Bailey, may have won the Tech community over.

Bailey was officially introduced to the public for the first time Monday morning at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion.

During the introduction, Bailey, Tech's 15th president, made his future plans for the university clear while expressing his excitement for the upcoming school year.

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, Manitoba (AP) - Passengers aboard a Canadian bus fled in horror as a fellow traveler viciously attacked his seat mate, repeatedly stabbing him and then severing his head, witnesses said Thursday.

Police said a 40-year-old man was arrested after the grisly attack late Wednesday night aboard a Greyhound bus en route from Edmonton, Alberta, to Winnipeg, Manitoba.

UNT computer science junior James Justin Harrell, 20, was found dead in his Mozart Hall dorm room Thursday afternoon.

Linda Anderson, secretary for the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, said Harrell was found at 2:05 p.m. The cause of death was asphyxia by smothering.
